چکیده
Abstract The fracture resistance of different advanced high-strength steel (AHSS) sheets for automotive applications is investigated through conventional tensile tests, toughness measurements, and hole expansion tests. Different fracture-related parameters, such as the true strain (TFS), thickness (TTS), at crack initiation ( w e i ), specific essential work ratio (HER), are assessed. ) shown to be a suitable parameter evaluate local formability AHSS. results reveal that cannot estimated from any parameters derived tests show importance microstructural features on propagation resistance. Based relation toughness-local formability, new AHSS classification mapping accounting global cracking proposed. Furthermore, physically motivated criterion edge-cracking prediction, based measurements in fatigue pre-cracked DENT specimens,

Niobium Alloyed High Strength Steels for Automotive Applications
Modern vehicle bodies make intensive use of high strength steel grades to meet the contradicting demand of lighter weight and simultaneously better mechanical performance. For many steel grades microalloying by niobium is the key to achieve their characteristic property profile. In HSLA steels niobium enhances the strength primarily by grain refinement. In interstitial free high strength steels...

متن کاملDuctile Failure in High Strength Steel Sheets
Developments in computer-aided engineering and the rapid growth of computational power have made simulation-driven process and product development efficient and useful since it enables detailed evaluation of product designs and their manufacturing processes. In the context of a sheet metal component, it is vital to predict possible failure both during its forming process and its subsequent usag...
متن کاملEffect of strain rate on ductile fracture initiation in advanced high strength steel sheets: Experiments and modeling
Low, intermediate and high strain rate tensile experiments are carried out on flat smooth, notched and central-hole tensile specimens extracted from advanced high strength steel sheets. A split Hopkinson pressure bar testing system is used in conjunction with a load inversion device to perform the high strain rate tension experiments. Selected surface strains, as well as local displacements, ar...
